How to make Kombucha Tea
You’ll need the following ingredients: Live Kombucha, 1 and ½ cups of sugar, ¼ cup of vinegar, black or green tea bags, distilled water. - Brew the tea you have purchased into the pot. Preferably, there should be six to eight bags of tea present in the pot. Brew the tea on the recommended amount of time in brewing your ordinary tea. Making it that way will ensure you that the tea essence in your Kombucha mother will not be too strong or too bland at the same time, if in case the brewing is done in lesser time. After the brewing is done, let it cool in room temperature. Now you are done with the first step towards your Kombucha Mother.
- After you are finished brewing the tea in its specified time, the next step is to put in the other ingredients, pour in the one and a half cup of sugar, make sure that it is evenly dissolved into the mixture by mixing it well. Mix it thoroughly so it is evenly distribute the sugar into the whole mixture.
- Sanitize the bottle you’ll put the Kombucha Mother in with hot water. After doing it, give the bottle a good wipe to relieve it of moisture that may disrupt the processes that will happen the moment the tea is on the bottle. After the wiping, pour in the tea.
- After you have the tea into the bottle, put in a vial of the active Kombucha and ¼ cup of vinegar into the mixture. Close the bottle after the adding of the other ingredients. Use the cloth to cover the mixture. If in case you don’t have cloth, a piece of coffee filter or paper towels will also work. In approximately one week, open the Kombucha and you just looked into your Kombucha Mother with Vinegar. This will be the new base of your Kombucha Tea.
