History Behind Chinese Tea

In today’s generation, people are fond of drinking tea specifically the Chinese tea, since most of the people know that tea is very essential due to its qualities especially when it comes to medicinal aspects. But where did the Chinese tea come from?

Well, actually the origin of the Chinese tea that is utilized as liquid refreshment is up in the air or indefinite, it was about 5000 years ago in accordance to the Chinese literature. It was the cup of Emperor Shen Nung which is filled with hot drinking water when a camellia blossom was carried in it. But then, most experts believed that it was all because of an ancient Chinese dictionary which is called Erh Ya, which was found about 350 BC.

In the ancient times, Chinese tea is really a medicine and not a drink or a beverage like this one true trivia that the Chinese tea helps speed up the termination or unloading of the nicotine (which is a harmful chemical found in cigarretes) from the body, so this is very beneficial for the certified smokers. That is why many Chinese people like to have a cup of Chinese tea after they eat their meal. In the 8th century, the drinking of the tea was leveled up in an artistic form, due to the promulgation of the book, “The Classic Art of Tea” written by Lu Yu. In his book, contains various heuristic tips for producing or making a Chinese tea, also most of these tips are still being used as of the moment.

Many years have passed or even centuries have passed, because of the work of Lu Yu, the Chinese tea became popular or famous very fast in the whole China. In connection with this, the tea was not only be seen as a one of the topic or poems and books, in fact, emperors also made tea as a reward for worthy beneficiaries. And as of now, teahouses or stores which are selling different kinds of tea are very rampant all over the world.

As a matter of fact there are different types of Chinese tea are occurring nowadays, but there are four major fundamental categories. The white tea produced from tea leaves which has not yet fully grown, second one is the green tea which is very popular drink in today’s generation, it came from the fresh tea leaves which is not fermented when it is processed. The most famous green tea also expensive one is the Dragon Well tea which is found in Hanghou. The third one is the red tea or also called as black tea. This one is made through the fermented tea leaves that are why it produces a darker color. The fourth one is the scented tea produced by some flowers and petals that is the cause of its fragrance.

Because of its fame, there is a great demand that is happening nowadays and the habit of drinking a Chinese tea everyday is not impossible to happen in the future.
